Here is what you need to know before your first shift to ensure a smooth, safe, and impactful experience for everyone.
- Closed-toe shoes required for all warehouse shifts
- Arrival 10 minutes prior to scheduled start time
- Youth ages 12–15 must be accompanied by an adult
- Free parking available on-site at all facilities
Volunteer FAQ
What is the minimum age to volunteer?
Volunteers must be at least 12 years old. Volunteers aged 12–15 must be accompanied by an adult guardian. Ages 16 and older can volunteer independently with a signed parent/guardian waiver.
Do you sign off on court-ordered or school service hours?
Yes! We sign off on school community service hours and non-violent court-ordered hours. Please notify shift leaders at check-in so your tracking sheet can be signed upon shift completion.
What should I wear to my volunteer shift?
Closed-toe shoes (sneakers or work boots) are strictly required for all warehouse shifts. We recommend comfortable, breathable clothing that you don't mind getting slightly dusty.
Are background checks required?
Standard warehouse packing shifts do not require a background check. However, volunteer roles involving direct mobile delivery to seniors or home visits do require a basic online background check.
